Peru, China, Japan, Korea, Italy, Germany and Provo, Utah. MultiLing has locations all over the world, but chose to remain in Utah Valley as the best place for its headquarters.
MultiLing moved its Utah Valley office down the street, but that’s as far as it goes. President and CEO Michael Sneddon said, “We selected the Utah County location nearly a quarter century ago because of a convergence of linguistic talent, which comes from BYU, Utah Valley University as well as University of Utah, and the computer software development technical expertise.”
“The linguistic talent plus that developmental talent is essential,” Sneddon said. “We develop linguistic technology that helps automate the translation process and automate the process of managing complex projects. That’s why we selected [Utah County] years ago, that’s why we’ll be here a long time. It is also eight hours from central European time zone and eight hours from Tokyo and Korea.”
The office is in the new Zions Bank Financial Center at 180 N. University Ave., Ste. 600. It is 20,600 square feet and approximately 50 percent more space than the previous location. The extra space, according to Sneddon, allows the company to maintain its rapid growth and provides the opportunity to add new employees.
“I feel it is important our teams have the best possible work environment. We looked around Utah County and this was the best choice for a multitude of different factors,” he said. Sneddon noted that the new office has large windows, is quiet, has a wonderful ambiance and that it is an all-around good work environment.
MultiLing translates more than 80 languages and specializes in intellectual property (IP) and technical materials translations for multi-national enterprises. Its headquarters have been located in Provo since 1988, when it was founded.
